Terms of Service
This document covers the PickleGenes mobile app for iOS and Android (com.picklegenes.app), published by PickleGenes LLC. The same text is shown inside the app under Settings.

Welcome to PickleGenes. By using the app you agree to these terms.
1. WHO CAN USE IT
You must be 13 or older. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for the accuracy of what you put in your profile — your date of birth, gender and skill level decide which divisions you can enter, so getting them wrong affects other players.
2. WHAT PICKLEGENES DOES
PickleGenes connects players, runs tournaments, leagues, round robins and social games, and lets clubs list and rent their courts. We are the platform. The events and the courts belong to the organizers and clubs who publish them.
3. WHAT WE CHARGE
PickleGenes charges a service fee on top of the price the organizer or club sets: 10% on tournaments and leagues, 3% on court bookings, memberships and everything else. The fee is always shown before you pay, on the same screen as the total. The organizer or club receives the rest.
4. COURT BOOKINGS — CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
The rules you see when you book are the rules that apply:
- Cancel more than 24 hours before your slot: the full court fee is returned.
- Cancel within 24 hours: half the court fee is returned.
- Once the booking has started: no refund.
- The PickleGenes service fee is not refunded, because it pays for the booking that was made.
Your money is held until the court is played. If a club cancels on you, or the court is unusable, the full court fee is returned. The PickleGenes service fee is earned when the transaction is made and is not refunded in any case.
5. TOURNAMENTS AND LEAGUES
Entry fees are set by the organizer, and their own refund policy applies — read it before you enter. Once a draw has been made and play has begun, entries are not refundable, because your place in the draw affects everyone else in it. If an organizer cancels an event before it starts, they must refund the entry fee. The PickleGenes service fee is earned when the transaction is made and is not refunded.
6. SCORES AND RESULTS
Scores are submitted by the players and confirmed by their opponents. A confirmed score is final and feeds your GeneLevel. Deliberately entering false results, or entering a division you are not eligible for, may cost you your account.
7. CLUBS, VENUES AND OWNER VERIFICATION
Anyone can create a club and prepare it in private. Before a club or venue is shown publicly, claims a venue listing, shows a verified badge or receives money, its owner or an authorized representative must pass PickleGenes owner verification: an ID check, documents that connect you to the business and the place, and proof that you control the venue listing (for example a code sent to the business email address, or a call to the phone number on the listing). We may read documents automatically and consult public records, but a person makes every decision.
By submitting an application you confirm that you are the owner or an authorized representative of the business, that you can bind it to these terms, and that everything you provide is true. False information is fraud and may be reported to the authorities. You are responsible for claims that arise from inaccurate information you provide.
We may refuse an application, hide a listing, suspend a club or venue, or hold payouts when verification fails, when the information changes, or when we suspect fraud. Changes to the name, address or payment details of a verified club or venue are reviewed before they take effect. Approval is not a legal finding of ownership: if someone else proves they control a venue, write to support@picklegenes.store and we will review it, and we may transfer the listing.
If you list courts, you confirm you are entitled to rent them. Money from bookings is held until the court has been played and is then paid out through Stripe, which runs its own identity checks, or through local collection where Stripe is not available. Listing courts you do not control is fraud and we will report it.
8. COMMUNITY
Be decent. No harassment, hate speech, cheating or spam. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks this.
9. IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG
PickleGenes is not a party to the games you play. We are not responsible for injuries on court, nor for disputes between players, organizers and clubs — but if a payment fails, a booking is lost or an event is cancelled, write to us and we will sort out the money side.
10. CHANGES
If we change these terms we update the date above and tell you in the app. Continuing to use PickleGenes means you accept the new version.
